Imagine If...
Imagine if is a story that speaks about life and its various perspectives. In this life we are all given individual roles we must fulfill before our proverbial hour glass runs out. Life is hard, life is short, and life is unfair. But that’s only one side of it. Life is mischievous, mysterious, and follows no one set path. Life is what you make of it, experience it and live it.

Initial Thesis Idea
LIFE AFTER LIFE
There is no such thing as a definitive “death”, and because of that, there is also no true self.
Thesis questions
What motivated you to choose your thesis topic?
Original Statement
The topic of the death, and what exactly happens to us in the next life has always intrigued me. It has also made me question what drives me to live. Whats the point of anything and everything we choose to do.
Final Statement
At the time of choosing this topic I felt as though I was at a cross road in my life. I was entering my senior year, and was going to graduate and leave FIT in the May, marking the end of my school life. After that I would be starting a new chapter in my life, with hopefully a job, and goal to work towards. To me this project was always meant to be my way of letting go of a piece of myself. A way to move into a new me. It was the inner argument with myself, that I was always afraid to tell others but was finally able to share.
What form(s) do you envision for the dessimination of your subject, its pertinence and your conclusion.
Original Statement
A book, that can function both forwards and backwards. Double meaning.
Final Statement
It was always meant to be a book, a story really. In the beginning it was going to be a book of symbols with a literal representation of my original thesis sentence. Although the book would have been an adequate representation of my topic, ultimately it would have only served as a false representation of my original reason for chasing the topic to begin with. I would have been taking the easy way out. So when I finally had the guts to go with my original gut instinct and wrote out Imagine If…, I took off running. It felt so right, and portrayed my thesis in its rawest form. It became more then a book, it became the physical embodiment of all the thoughts that plagued my mind for the longest time. It was cathartic, it was true, and it was my me.

Imagine If...
An Interview
The interview for my thesis was not a traditional interview with set questions. Rather it was a reaction to the story “Imagine If”. The interview became a general talk about the story, it’s purpose, rather then a formal Q and A. The individual I interviewed was Dr. Susan Breton, the director of the counseling center at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
We can tell ourselves that we are going to live life to the fullest, yet still be perceived as selfish.
